Principal's Message

A person peeks out from behind a large pile of red and white balloons in an office.Welcome to Weldon Elementary School!

Thank you for visiting our website and for taking the time to learn more about our incredible school community. It is a privilege to begin another year as principal of Weldon and to continue working alongside our outstanding students, staff, and families.

At Weldon, we believe that educating children goes far beyond academics. While we are committed to helping every student achieve at high levels, we are equally dedicated to developing strong character, positive relationships, and the life skills students need to be successful both in and out of the classroom.

A cornerstone of our school culture is the Positivity Project. Through this program, students learn to recognize and develop character strengths such as perseverance, kindness, gratitude, teamwork, integrity, and leadership. We are proud to have earned Positivity Project Green Shield Status for the second consecutive year, a recognition that reflects our commitment to creating a school culture where students learn that "other people matter."

This year, we will continue to emphasize the values that help students thrive: hard work, effort, responsibility, and maintaining a positive attitude. We encourage our students to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and understand that growth comes through perseverance and determination. Our goal is to help every child develop not only the knowledge and skills needed for academic success, but also the character and confidence needed to make a positive impact on the world around them.

Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to create engaging learning experiences and a supportive environment where every student feels valued, connected, and capable of success. We know that the strongest outcomes occur when schools and families work together, and we deeply appreciate the partnership and support of our Weldon families.

As you explore our website, I encourage you to learn more about our programs, events, and opportunities for students. Together, we will continue to build a school community where students are challenged to do their best, encouraged to grow, and inspired to become their very best selves.

Thank you for being part of the Weldon family. I look forward to another outstanding year of learning, growth, and success.

Warm regards,

Ann Castro
